Skylum has rolled out version 2.2 of its Luminar Mobile photo editing app, bringing a series of upgrades designed to enhance its functionality for photographers. This update introduces full RAW format support, editing history, iCloud synchronization, and more, aiming to make mobile editing more seamless and professional.
To refresh your memory, Skylum expanded its family of photo editing apps when it introduced Luminar Mobile in 2024, an editing app designed specifically for iPhones. And now, in version 2.2, there are some exciting new features and revamps to make the entire editing experience more enjoyable and efficient.
Expanded capabilities with RAW support
The addition of RAW format support is a significant step for Luminar Mobile. It allows users to work with high-quality files from most major camera brands. You can now apply various edits to exposure, contrast, temperature, and other parameters directly on your devices, opening up possibilities for creating polished results on the go.
Keeping track with editing history
Luminar Mobile now automatically saves editing progress, enabling you to revisit and refine your work anytime. This feature provides a clear view of past adjustments, offering greater control over the creative process without losing earlier ideas or decisions.
iCloud sync
For those juggling multiple Apple devices, iCloud synchronization ensures a smoother editing experience. Changes made on an iPhone are instantly accessible on an iPad, and it’s a great solution if you switch between devices.
Interface improvements
In response to user feedback, Skylum has also refined the app’s interface. Notable changes include the reorganization of the “Tool Develop” section on iPads, where tools like Saturation and Vignette now have dedicated buttons for quicker access. A “Revert to Original” option has also been introduced, simplifying the process of undoing all edits to start afresh.
Pricing and availability
Luminar Mobile is available for subscription, with pricing starting at $4.99 per month or $29.99 annually. A lifetime license is also offered for $59.99. The app is available for download on the AppStore
