Calling all wildlife photography enthusiasts and your animal photo bloopers! The Nikon Comedy Wildlife Awards is back and officially open for entries for 2025. Whether you’ve captured a laughing hyena, a clumsy penguin, or a turtle mid-sass, now’s your chance to share your hilarious and heartwarming wildlife moments with the world.
In its latest edition, the competition is teaming up once again with Nikon to celebrate the funnier side of nature while raising awareness for conservation. After the overwhelming success of last year’s awards, the 2025 competition promises to be even bigger, better, and more sensational.

A Competition With a Cause
Beyond the laughs, the Comedy Wildlife Awards are about more than just funny photos. The competition proudly supports the Whitley Fund for Nature, a UK charity that has empowered conservation leaders across the Global South for over 30 years. By entering, you’re helping to protect the incredible wildlife we all love.

Who’s Judging?
This year’s panel is a mix of wildlife experts, photographers, and celebrities. Nikon Creators Cameron Whitnall, Lara Jackson, and Roxy Furman will be joined by TV presenter Kate Humble, comedian Hugh Dennis, and conservationists like Bella Lack and Will Travers OBE.

2025 Prizes
Aside from the glory of showcasing your work to millions, there are some incredible prizes up for grabs. The overall winner will bag a once-in-a-lifetime safari in Kenya’s Maasai Mara with Alex Walker’s Serian, plus a stunning handmade trophy from The Wonder Workshop in Tanzania. Other prizes include Nikon Z6III and Z50II cameras, ThinkTANK camera bags, and even a website from Amazing Internet.

How to Enter
The competition is free to enter and open to everyone, from novices to pros. Categories include Mammals, Birds, Reptiles, Fish, and even a dedicated Junior Category for photographers aged 16 and under. There’s also a Video Category and a People’s Choice Award, so there’s something for everyone.

Deadline and Key Dates
Entries close on June 30, 2025, so you’ve got plenty of time to capture that perfect shot. The shortlist will be revealed in October, with winners announced in November or December.
