Adobe Creative Cloud Update Brings Native 4K+8K support and more focus on Video Apps is more attractive

AdobeToday, Adobe has updated its Creative Cloud video tools with features it first showed off at IBC and Adobe MAX earlier this year.

The updates bring a host of new and revamped capabilities for Premiere Pro CC, After Effects CC and Audition CC. Below, we’ll dive into some of the details of the updates.

Native Support

Premiere Pro CC now offers comprehensive native support for 4K–8K footage, offering more editing power for Ultra HD video.

Color Advancements

Premiere Pro CC has offered color fidelity and color adjustments for quite some time. Now, it’s coming to After Effects CC. Premiere Pro CC didn’t get left behind with color features though; now it features more thorough support for ARRI RAW, Rec. 2020 and other Ultra HD and HDR formats.

Better Touch Support

Adobe’s Premiere Pro CC, After Effects CC and Character Animator have all been designed with touch-based input in mind. Specifically, Adobe says its designed its software to work more smoothly with Microsoft Surface Pro, Windows 8 tablets and Apple track pad devices.

Remix

Audition CC now offers a new feature called Remix that will automatically rearrange and adjust the duration of a song to match video content.

Updated CreativeSync

Adobe says it’s updated its Creative Cloud Library access across devices, ensuring all of your content will be accessible more easily than ever across After Effects and Premiere Pro.

Destination Publishing

Adobe Media Encoder will now let you render and upload video directly to Facebook.

Premiere Clip Android

Premiere Clip makes its Android debut with this update. You can now download it through the Google Play Store.

Overview

All in all, it’s a solid update with a few standout features. Although opinions may differ, these frequent, incremental updates a proving to be a key in Adobe’s subscription-based platform.

Little by little, Adobe is adding a stronger backbone for its apps to operate on and as the cloud becomes more powerful than ever, it appears as though Adobe is getting more and more ready to usher it in with open arms.
