Sirui Vision Prime 1 35mm

Last week, Sirui announced its Vision Prime 1 Series T1.4 full-frame cine lenses. The wait is over – they’re now officially launched on Kickstarter, offering filmmakers 8K-ready optics, user-changeable mounts, and a fast T1.4 aperture, all at a pretty sweet early bird price.

Early bird pricing and Kickstarter perks

For a limited time, each lens is available for just $549 (down from the $649 retail price), and the three-lens set can be backed for $1,599 (retail $1,899). This makes them one of the most affordable professional-grade full-frame cine lenses on the market right now.

If you’re considering backing the project, here’s what you’re getting:

  • A full-frame, 8K-ready cine lens with a fast T1.4 aperture
  • Interchangeable mounts (E, RF, Z, L) for cross-system compatibility
  • Three focal lengths: 24mm, 35mm, and 50mm
  • Lightweight, durable aluminum build
  • Minimal focus breathing and controlled distortion

Sirui has built a strong reputation for producing high-quality, budget-friendly cine lenses, and the Vision Prime 1 Series seems to be continuing that tradition.

How does it compare to other budget cine lenses?

At this price, the closest competitors are brands like Meike, DZOFilm, and Samyang/Rokinon. However, Sirui has managed to pack in ED glass, HRI elements, and aspherical optics, which are usually reserved for much higher-end cine glass.

Another great feature is the consistent 67mm filter thread and uniform design across all three lenses. This is important for filmmakers as there’s no rebalancing when swapping lenses on a gimbal, and no need for multiple step-up rings when using filters.
