OM SYSTEM (previously known as Olympus) has launched the OM-3, a Micro Four Thirds mirrorless camera that blends vintage style with modern features. Inspired by the 1972 Olympus OM-1 film camera, the OM-3 has a classic look with physical dials but includes advanced digital tools for today’s photographers.
The OM-3 is built for photographers who enjoy manual controls. It has dedicated dials for ISO, shutter speed, and exposure compensation, making it easy to adjust settings on the fly. While it looks old-school, inside it packs a 20.37-megapixel stacked back-illuminated sensor and a TruePic X image processor. The company promises that this combo delivers fast performance and sharp image quality.
A standout feature is the computational photography button. This gives quick access to creative tools like Live ND filters, focus stacking, and high-resolution shooting. These features let you create unique images without needing extra editing.
The OM-3’s autofocus system uses AI to track subjects more accurately, whether you’re shooting wildlife, sports, or portraits. It also has in-body image stabilization (IBIS) with up to 8.5 stops, helping capture sharp images in low light or when using slower shutter speeds.
For video creators, the OM-3 records 4K at up to 60 fps, making it a solid choice for hybrid shooters. Its weather-sealed body is built to handle tough conditions, making it a reliable tool for outdoor photography.
